147 Shocks (dampers)

Has any one had to replace the original Shocks on their 147 2.0l yet and if so at what mileage (distance travelled)

Also has anyone tried Koni front adjustables without any other changes (ie without lowered springs)

I guess I need not reply.

But I will still say that swapping my springs/shocks has been the best upgrade decision I have made since buying the car.

17" alloys + Eibach Springs + Koni Dampers =

Stef, I will reply to your PM in the near future.
I assume that your car is lowered?

I was just trying to get an idea of the life expectancy of the Original Shocks and also what to expect if I just replaced the fronts with Koni's but used standard springs.

Stori, I have replaced my dampers with yellow adjustable Koni's at 170000 km (about 110000 miles). My 156 is not lowered (apart from the Sports Pack the car came with). The handling now is a bit better and, since I have adjusted the stiffness, I don't have any problems touching the road anymore.
I also think the original dampers are too soft. The 147 was basically build on the same platform, though a bit shorter, as the 156, so it appears to me the effects should be alike

Thanks for the input.

I am surprised that the Originals lasted 170,000 kms however
