156 Side Skirts

Hi Folks,

This will probably rate as the dumbest question of the month, but I'd like to know if the sides of a Sportswagon stay cleaner with the factory side skirts than without. Since I'm too old to be caught buffing rims in the driveway, I take mine to the carwash on a regular basis, and by the time I get her back home, I've got two-tone "Blue/Dust" doors all around.

I once had a K-body IROC Camaro, and I don't know if it was because it was lower than my dad's base model w/o "ground effect" body trim, it seemed to stay cleaner longer.

If you haven't guessed by now, I'm just looking for a rational reason to slap a pair on. Fact is, my better half thinks I already spend way too much money on my toys (instead of hers), so all positive answers will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 156 Side Skirts

Hmmm, small, contoured mud-flapps on the side skirts; that's the ticket!

Next question: I'm looking at the standard Alfa skirts that (I think) come with the Sports Package (the after-market ones are a little flashy for my taste), and I plan to have them mounted when I get the car repainted. Do I need to order any special mounting hardware with them, or is that something a body shop usually has handy?
