Hmmm Nav Tec

Hi All!

Ive just bought a 2005 GT jtd with satnav. Now the problem Im having is that I cant do anything with the satnav.
When I go to the Nav it shows a map of where I am. I cannot put in any destination or anything apart from zoom in or out.
I used to have a SAAB as a company car and the satnav on that was atouch screen affair and easy to use. This one has got me completly baffled. There isnothing in the hand book. Can anyone shed any light?
Cheers!!

Re: Nav Tec

I guess the first response question would be; do you have the CD installed? I have never tried mine without the CD. If so, my manual pretty well explains it from page 97. Although, it is an English manual from a Dutch dealer. It is the "Connect Nav/Connect Nav+" Manual.
These SatNav systems (mine is in a '05 147) are rather 'old fashioned', in that they do require the CD installed.

BTW, welcome! From one newbie to another!

Re: Nav Tec

Hi
Thanks for the replies. I do have the disc installed its just when I go to the navigation screen I cannot use the menu buttons.
By the sounds of it Im missing the NAV manual, as the owners manual I have only relates to the standard radio/cd.
Also just found a cd auto changer in boot.Got problems with it skipping on the cds when Im driving.
Just little niggles but I really am enjoyin driving this car.
I had a brand new Saab 93 convertible as a company car before this (2.8 v6 turbo) and the GT knocks socks off it!! (Apart from the satnav !).
Any more info would be most welcomed!
Cheers

Re: Nav Tec

Hi CK,
The 'main' control is the knob on the right, at least on mine. It basically works by pressing and/or turning it. This knob selects functions in each of screens; Main, audio, nav, etc.
I don't know if you have tried that.
Like you, I found the changer in the boot, after a few days of driving. Fortunately, mine seems to be working.
Good luck.
Cheers!

Thumbs Up Re: Nav Tec

You're welcome CK,
It was a good to hear I actually could help someone and not just always ask questions.
Have fun with the new GT and sense of direction!
Cheers!
