Retro fit heated seats?

Hi

I have a GT with tan interior and, whilst I'm not sure I want them yet, I'd like to know if it's possible to retro-fit the heating elements to the leather?

I guess the two heat pads fit into the seat and connect to the switch on the plastic side cover (that currently has a blanking plate) and then to the connectors under the seat?

Is this right?, anyone have any experiance of this?, searched but found nothing.

Thanks
Alex

Re: Retro fit heated seats?

Looked into this for my old 147. Around £300 quid for the heater mats and the looms from the dealer and you would have to strip both front seats down to the foam. Doesn't sound like a quick cheap job to me........

Hello Whatmo. I'd be interested in hearing how you get on if you go for it. Despite being garaged the leather in my GT is still a bit hilly on the derriere in a morning.

You can just go the easy route, the wiring is already there so get a set of second hand heated seats and the relay and you just into a simple swap out.

Doh! Forgot about that one!

Did that in my 147 but never got round to wiring them up! Couldn't get the loom without buying the mats. Could have made one up but i'm too lazy!

Wiring is already there in the car. Just need to make up the bit that comes from the centre console to the seat.
