Maybe the rear end is jacked up. , or that'll be the most economical Beemer ever.

And maximum power is accomplished, in most cases, lower than the maximum RPM.
The other possibility is that its limited by the combination of the rev limiter and the total transmission (differential + wheels diameter) ratio. But I don't think that is the case with the 147.

BTW the computer displayed a fuel consumption of 1 litre every 4 kms at top speed. Due to the flash you can't hardly see it on the pic. Since this is the maximum the board computer shows you, the real consumption can even be worse.

back to the topic

just took my alfa for a ride and when i drove i remembered the debate going on here wink so here are the times.

AR 145 2.0 QV:

80 - 120 (in IV. gear): cca. 8.1s
80 - 120 (in V. gear): cca 10.2s

it's not so accurate probably but enough for orientation. just 2 attempts made. weather -&gt; snowing so the road was wet, temp. 1°C...

Great job, you can join the club of daredevils.

But I think it is kind of weird that your speedometer shows a higher speed then mine, since your Bella has 30 hp less.

Selespeed</strong><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">no, it's not so weird... ; the maximum speed depends of some factors like, humidity, temperature, fuel...
I already opened a topic about the top speed...
I had 2 different top speeds with my car:
on the highway both, but one in the night, with cold and humid weather (215 top speed)and one during the day, with 20 degrees celsius (over 225 km/h)...
so...

if u can't love your alfa,
you can't love anything...

it's really strange.. all merc seem to rev really low, i think that's why they tend to have a low bhp rating, but then have more torque than normal.

this is my dad in Italy, and my bro snapping away with the digicam, with his completely standard E200 (2litre, 136bhp) (it's got sports suspension, but whats that got to do with it?)

210kmph and 5,000rpm!! and Hugo's pic shows 230km/h and 7,000 rpm!

http://www.fotango.com/p/eba00251923f00000044.jpg

btw, this is my bro doing 160 in his corsa! wink

that was a photoshopped image (only the 2nd one though!) he wa sonly doing about 40 at the time hehe, i just inverted the needle (not the whole pic)
and yes, we do have RHDs in malta; the merc is LHD though cause we bought it unexpectadly in germany so...
it's better in LHD though, cause my dad often travels to europe with it (both for work and holidays)

Besides, who told you that he isnt cornering with 220km/h
