New member - hopefully not a new problem!
Hi,
Just joined today - been the proud owner of a 156 2.0 TI selespeed for nearly 4 years now. Never had a problem with the car until a couple of weeks ago.... Pulled up to a set of traffic lights, there was a beep beep (same as reverse gear) and the selespeed went into neutral and would not select a gear. Called recovery, sods law they turn up, I try to select a gear and the car obeys! However, after every subsequent trip, after approx 4/5 miles - same thing all over again. Car plays ball after being left for approx 20-30 mins.
I have topped up the selespeed fluid (proper TS stuff) - no change. Had a diagnostic which resulted in a lot of head scratching, with the only registered fault as 'intermittent low oil pressure'. I have tried to book the car into Alfa in Glasgow (around 40 miles from me) and they do not want to know. They had the cheek to tell me to go to an automatic transmission specialist as they were not sure they could accurately diagnose the fault.
I am hoping that someone else's misfortune may assist me in this dilemma - has anyone ever experienced this before - anything else I can try before going into the unknown specialist realms?
I would really appreciate any help with this one.
Thanks,
Brair
