147 electrical quirks

Hi, brand new forum member and Alfa 147 2.0 owner (as of yesterday...) and it's got a couple of niggles I thought one of you might have experienced.

After using the remote central locking to unlock the car, when you open the passenger/drivers door, the boot pops open...lol. I'd assume it was an electrical issue/micro-switch problem so not that easy to fix, but has anyone else experienced this?

Also, the spare key does not seem to enable/disable the alarm or operate the central locking, is it expensive to get it re-programmed?

Thanks in advance for any help! Dave

Re: 147 electrical quirks

Hi! and welcome. Could try dismantling and cleaning them both with a drop of PCB cleaner, the three micoswitches that is. No idea of the cost of re-programming though. Just gently ease the Alfa badge away from it's sticky backing, to get at the wee countersunk posi screw, then prise the two halves apart.:

Welcom.

There are many many threads about 147 keys and
reprogramming of the car. (It's a dealer job. )

Try a quick thread search for all the useful info.
like checking the key battery etc.

Re: 147 electrical quirks

Thanks guys, didnt even consider it might be something as simple as the battery lol. Any ideas about the door/boot? I think its unrelated to the central locking, as even using the key to open the door pops the boot.

Re: 147 electrical quirks

Hi All,

Have a 147 and not surprised to have a few electrical issues.

Have bought a workshop manual CD on e-bay but it has no wiring diags,
just loom and item locations.

Anyone know where i can get proper wiring diags for 1.6TS.

Thanks

k4k
