Creaky car...

My 2002 147 can sound a little 'creaky' as it drives along.

The car seems to handle fine. There is no pulling to left or right when under braking or acceleration, the car tracks perfectly well.

I'm new to Alfa's, and appreciate they are a little more 'quirky' (beautifully designed, indifferently engineered?) than their German counterparts (Pinnacle of engineering, designed using a ruler and a set square?).

Is this normal, and am I concerned for no reason?!

Re: Creaky car...

That would most likely be the upper wisnbones, is it a bit knocky when you go over speed ramps?

They are only £40 each but it's a job that you pay for the labour on. easily DIYable though.

Mines is an 03 plate, and does the same. My garage checked the suspension, wishbones and said all was fine - possibly is some dry joints. The creakiness goes away after the first 5mins of driving though.

Re: Creaky car...

The problem seems to be steadily getting worse. When I push down on the front of the car it creaks.

Does this seem like the wishbones?

Please help as I need the car for work every day and want to get it sorted asap!

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Creaky car...

I had the same problem, major creaks going over any sort of a bump. Got the front wishbones done................no more annoying creaks since!

Re: Creaky car...

Mine does that sometimes, but the upper wishbones have only been replaced a month or two ago.

That's because the bottom wishbones also need to be replaced.

Re: Creaky car...

Not sure that's the case. Went to AutoLusso the other week for Ned to check my car over and they looked fine.
Tired springs perhaps?
