Airbag??

I purchased the alfa 156 2.0 TS selespeed on thursday and so far not a problem, however, (lol) the vehicles airbag light is on, and i need new front pads. is there a know fault as such with the air-bag light or was that just a selling ploy??

The gentleman i brought the vehicle off said something about wiring in the drivers seat?? and that it is a known problem you just need to get the light reset?
