engine number location on 2.0 ts

Hi can anyone tell me the location of the engine number on a 2.0 TS 156. I know it is on the VIN plate but as I am importing into Portugal the inspector requires to see it on the engine itself! Part of the import bureaucracy here in Portugal I'm afraid!

If he needs to see it himself just tell him to find it himself

Unfortunately that would get you an instant fail in terms of getting the car matriculated, not the comment I was looking for!

Really? They would fail you for not knowing where the engine stamp is? I'll have a look at my engine at lunchtime and then post back where it is

As you look at the engine from the front of the car, there is a block to the right of the exhaust manifold and down a little, it is stamped on there.

Thanks for that it will save me a lot of grief, you wont believe what officialdom is like here
