156 heater problems

Hi, sorry if i'm covering old ground, but i have a problem with my 156 v6 heater motor. It just stopped working. How i laughed. Put meter across(after checking fuse), and got 12v at pos 1, reducing to 11.5 at pos 4. Burnt out motor me thinks. Long hot visit to second hand parts dealer, replacement fitted and stil blower not blowing. any suggestions gratefully received

Not Happy Re: 156 heater problems

okay, that didnt work, although i can now hear some wierd clicking sounds from behind the console which i assume is the ducts resetting. I read somewhere on this site that it might be the variable fan speed control that sends the information to an electronic bit of gubbins. Any information on how this works would be gratefully appreciated, as this is now starting to head way out of my abilities. ho hum the joys

Not sure if this is of use but my climate started playing up, either too cold or too hot and the climate ECU had to be reset. Main dealer half hour labour.

Re: 156 heater problems

That will be the resistor pack that's failed, it's buried up behind th dash on the passengers side, a git to get to, but can be done.

Re: 156 heater problems

hallelujah, took two screws off resistor thingymebob, quick trip to breakers, short stop at chiroprators, now happily blowing air again. Now only have to figure why the a/c is not as cold as it should be. ******, dont u just love them

Re: 156 heater problems

Possibly, but the 156 aircon is never as cold as people expect.
