What is it? Part of MAF?? for JTD

What is number 11 ??
Any suggestion welcome?
Is it this part in black?

Problem with MAF can be solved by simply changing inner part with this "sending unit"?

No11 looks like a temperature sensor????

the replacement part your looking for is the only bit you need to help you fix the problems with your MAF as it holds all the electronic parts and the rest is just plastic which the pipes fit to

usualy part No1 is sold as a hole unit including the electric gismos that you need, but i have seen reconditioned ones for sale or aftermarket ones that just sale the inner part that you want

didn't saw any separate thing on MAF (such as temp sens)??
this means that MAF can be fixed for as low as 30-40 eur?
need only 5 angle torx with hole in center?
to unscrew this part from plastic pipe that it is in?
and it is Alfa original part...not chinese one

th part in the picture is the ectual maf, with probably a temp sensor included.. but without the tube it was calibrated to, it's not as much use... though for a diesel would be 99.9% chance of working just fine...

Agreed, the pictured item is the Maf itself, the tube is the section it mounts into.

Re: What is it? Part of MAF?? for JTD

actual picture in first post (part in black) is part that can be bought separately...even on ebay...
but why would I buy from ebay (chinese one) stating that it is calibrated and that it will work 100% accurately...etc?
and it is 40-50 eur on ebay and here just 30-40...

Why would Alfa even sell something that could not be used (mounted in plastic pipe)?
If it is not possible to change this part inside MAF, why it would be sold as separate part?
With separate part number?

I will try this.
30 eur is not something to cry for if it is not ok.
+
15 eur for 5-angle torx set
------------------------
45 eur

Re: What is it? Part of MAF?? for JTD

tthe MAF measures the amount of air that passes to said tube in an amount of time, by measuring how much air is passing through the MAF itself. If the tube is not matched to the MAF, there can, and will be a severe miscalculation of the air going in the engine...

Not a big issue for a diesel, where 10% miscalculation of air either produces smoke or a minor power loss, but on a petrol car fueling will be off anytime the car isn't operating in EGO-closed loop. which is always except when idling and cruising...
