156 roof rust/rubber windscreen trim.

Hi to all.I know there have been general threads on this subject of roof rust but i am looking for a specific answer to this question; Is it possible to prize away the rubber trim along the top of the windscreen to allow me more access to sand down the small patches of rust on the leading edge of the roof ?It seems to me that this rubber trim is mainly there to fill in the gaps and tidy up the appearance around the screen. The screen itself seems to be bonded in and held by other means.I would just like to know if anyone has actually done this? Removal of the screen seems a bit excessive as the corrosion is just on the leading roof edge/rubber trim 'join'.I will be away from the computer for a while, so thanks to all who respond in the meantime.
