156 2.0 TS ECU Change July '99

Does anybody know what difference the change in the July 99 ECU part number change made for the 156 2.0 TS ?

Pre July 99 is 4673 9436, post July is 4676 8470 (quoted by Alfa).

there are several differences in the engine management systems between CF2 and CF3, these changes were almost all made to meet the emissions regs of CF3, this caused a loss of power and torque. to determine what all the differences are you will need to compare wiring diagrams because some of the differences were to do with other parts, not just the ecu.

And generally speaking, the later ECUs are a four-bolt fixing, compared to the earlier 3-bolt, so its not easy to inter-change them if you were so minded....

Thanks guys.

I'm only asking to try and determine whether upgrading the ECU would help with some faults I have detailed on another thread.

From your advice the answer is a categoric no.
