need help with 156

I am having a problem with my 156 twinspark. When it gets warm and i dip the clutch it stalls, have you any ideas?

We are at our wits end here and we need help, History so far Maf replaced , lamda sensor replaced variator replaced all in the last month. Now the cars engine stops when you dip the clutch, it fires up as soon as you turn the key, I am thinking could it be the fuel filter because the problem is worse when the tank is below quarter and if so where is the fuel filter and any tips on changing it, Thanks..

Re: need help with 156

Sort of depends on what year your car is - the earlier manual cars had a cable throttle, the later ones were fly-by-wire.

Either way there is an idle control valve on the throttle body which should operate to keep the tickover stable - on the earlier cars in particular this can get clagged up and malfunction - can often be sorted by cleaning....
