thermostat 156 2.5 v6

Hi all i had a new rad fitted on my 156 2.5 but the temp is higher now than before i had rad fitted would it be worth me changeing my thermostat and how hard is it to do i am in essex so allso anyone know where i can get stat with out getting stung thanks

it use to run at 90 now its higher

The stat could be stuck shut although it's more usual when it's open, Are the fans working correctly, first one comes on around the 93 degree mark I think. Otherwise stats are only £18-£20 from the dealer and easy to fit into the bargain.

It could of course be the plastic impellor on the water pump giving up the ghost,common fault expensive fix on a v6.

yes fans seem to be working fine temp go,s up to half way between 90 and 130 car seems to run fine but as i said before it ran at 90

Very strange for an engine to run hotter with a new radiator.
