After An Engine? Read This!!!

Having being ripped off by this company I feel I should inform you before it happens to you... THIS COMPANY IS RAN BY CON MEN DO NOT PURCHASE NOTHING FROM THEM..

What happened???

I paid £925 for the engine excluding fitting, it was sold as, complete and in working order! (Yh right). Recieved it 0n 30/04/08 to find it had been jacked up by the sump and had a big hole in it, oil pump snapped and timming issuse's. Raised it with them and all they do is fob me off.

They told me they would send me out a replacement engine, that never happened. 4wks later after numerous calls promised to reimburse me for the faults. 2mths later still no refund after about 20 phone calls "yh yh we'll get that sorted for u"

Wrote a letter stating my intentions that if the matter isn't resolved, I would be taking them to court.
Only for the letter to be sent back to me, because the company do not reside at that address.
If the company was near me, they'd get what 4.

But on the plus side if you can call it that, Just got her back today and she's puring like a cat after another £800+ for parts and labour

i never buy engines online or from far away businesses. local scrapyards/breakers are cheaper, easier to deal with, and you can even see the engine working before you commit. plus its another opporuntiy to build up a relationship with your local businesses, which really pays in the long term.

always check the forum on a near daily basis!

Would agree with Jug - if you have a breaker or supplier near you speak to them. You can get to know the guys and can benefit from that. I know a few guys in the local breaker and they have even let me know in the past if a car comes in that I might want parts from. Personoally I always find it easier to deal with face to face.

Get your credit card company involved.

These guys have already been on watchdog.

Heathrow Engines is another name they've traded as, Google it and you will see loads of complaints.

I agree.If you paid by credit card (not debit card) then the credit card company has the same legal obligations to you as the supplier.
