147 1.9 Collezione - Insurance

Hi All,

I have just bought a 147 1.9 collezione on an 07 plate. Can anyone recommend a good place for insurance - i have full no claims and no points on my licence.

Best quote so far is £354 with a £250 excess - which I thought was quite high.

Also, as I am new to Alfa's is there anything in particular i should be looking out for.

Thanks for any help and advice you can give me.

Seems ok to me but depends on how old you are

I've used Admiral, Elephant and Adrian Flux on my Alfas. Worth trying them if you haven't already

Re: 147 1.9 Collezione - Insurance

afraid i cant help but thought i'd say that insurance quotes seem to have shot up this year, mine is up for renewal and while i paid around £450 last year the average quote its £670 from most places! i used confused.com and moneysupermarket.com and both found me liverpool victoria for £400 odd, while all other quotes were in the £600+ region!
i have yet to ring liverpool victoria but can only assume the low rate is an error.

thats well cheap, i pay nearly £800 on a selespeed with 2yrs no claims and no points and just to polish it off thats only third party fire and theft.

Without wanting to make you feel bad, mine's £500 with £100 excess and I have zero no-claim bonus and 3 points. Fully comp! (I'm 34)
Got mine via Go Compare.com

Top tip. If you can add a woman onto your insurance do it! Saved me £80! (even if it is my soon to be ex-wife!, just don't tell her!)

Interestingly I have just phoned Norwich Union as per request of the dealer to arrange 7 days free insurance so my new GT can be taxed before I collect it on Friday....and they quoted me very happy. Over £300 less than my current insurance!!! Unfortunately I'll have to pay £78 to cancel my current insurance as I have only been with them for a month but it's still £250 savings!!

Re: 147 1.9 Collezione - Insurance

just in case some people dont: its very important to shop around every year, as for some reason, loyalty means nothing these days, its cheaper to change than to stay put! the drive to get new customers means policies already had are not important or worth being nice to!
usually i find the quotes get cheaper each year bot not this time! i'm guessing credit crunch and floods are the excuses for this.
