GT JtdM Cambelt Interval

Morning ,

Am I correct in understanding the correct interval for a cam belt change on a Gt 1.9 is 3 years or 72K ? I am a tad confused as a friend of mine has a Brera 1.9 and he has been told his is a 4 year 72K interval , I know Alfa have a habit of changing what is in print and wondered if anyone had up to date info ?

cheers

Just to add to the confusion, the actual interval is 72k or 5 years, but most specialists recommend a change at 60k or 3 years.

And get the waterpump done at the belt change. They have been know to fail, taking out the cambelt in the process.

The specialist may say it is not nessesary, but insist it is done.

Re: GT JtdM Cambelt Interval

Thanks for the info , Mine is 3 years in october and has done 46K , should I be sensible and go with that or is that too cautious ? how come Alfa quotes different intervals for the same engine in a different car ?

wots a realistic price with pump ? circa £300 ?

cheers

Re: GT JtdM Cambelt Interval

I would have thought that £300-£350 would have been about the right sort of price, at a specialist.

I am not that clued up on Diesel change intervals but they do last longer than petrol engined cars.

48,000 miles or 4 years is a realistic interval IMO
