how do you say VELCOCE

i keep trying to tell people what modle ive got and i just cant say it

I think it's pronounced Velochee, with a stress on the 'och', so velOCHee, if that makes any sense in print!

Actually Celadon and D_C got the last bit better than me, more an 'ay' than an 'ee' as it's spoken, but still with the stress on the second to last syllable, you'll be speaking Italian in no time!

LOL I was on the phone to various dealers over the last few days getting prices for a cam belt change & I was saying " Vellochay" and without fail the girl (they were all girls) on the other end of the phone said " Do you mean Velosse? "

What he said (and he speaks fluent Italian ).

i have always pronounced it as "Velose".... oops.

Scott1s's explanation is correct - the ce combination in Italian makes it a "ch" sound.
Hope I've got it right as my ability in Italian has dipped as I haven't spoken it for a long while.

I've always said "velosse" but we had an engineer down a while ago and he said "velo-chay."

it is vey-lo-che, ('che' as in Chesterfield) But said as one, not stressing the break between the syllables, hence; veyloche.

It is not Ve-lo-say, or vel-oh-see.

Now, with a hint of Italian accent, let the words dance over your tongue: Alfa Romeo Veloce. Pretty cool, huh? ;-)
