Quando parlo del Polo Nord intendo la Scozia. I parenti sono toscani - Colle Val D'Elsa per essere preciso. A Parma non ci sono mai stato sfortunatamente - il capoluogo gastronomico dell'Italia.

I probably speak it far better than I write it - I struggle a bit TBH. Although born and brought up in Glasgow (Italian mother Scots father hence surname Scott) Italian was the first language I spoke. Go back at least once a year to catch up with rellys and pals. Love it . . . .

The Italian speakers may be phonetically correct - but in the end you'll just pronounce it like the rest of us.

Who needs to be fluent in Italian. All I know is that in my little world Alfa Romeo Veloce translates to The Dogs ********

I figure it's an Italian word so I pronounce it the Italian way, even though I don't speak Italian.

I mean we all pronounce the 't' sound in pizza, the 'ch' in cappuccino and the 'ay' in latte. So why not the 'chay' in veloce?

If you're insistant on sticking to english then say 'fast' not 'vell-oss'. Vell-oss isn't a word in either language.
