Engine creaking on pull-off

Any ideas would be appreciated, just started to notice the engine creaking on pull off and it's driving me crazy...

Just guessing but, possibly the engine mounts need replacing.

Mine makes a kind of deep rattle when pulling off or doing hill starts. Not very loud. I think its normal!

how many mounts hold the 156 engine in place and if i need some where can i get some from.. thanks

I've got exactly the same problem on my 147. It's driving me nuts. I've read a lot about it possibly being wishbones or bushes that need replacing. I'm reasonably sure my creaking noise is not suspension related though. Although it creeks when I pull-off and go over bumps, the creeking disappears when the engine is off despite me jumping up and down inside the car! (The old techniques are always the best). I'm starting to think there's a lose bracket around the front of the exhaust or around the engine if there could be such a thing - although I've really not got a clue. Any thoughts welcome before I go and take the plunge at an Alfa garage.

fitted the top engine mount and still the squeak.....dam you hear me say......well I have sorted it whoo hoo.

The heat shield aroud the manifolds had been bent and was rubbing on something.....dont know what but a crowbar later and hey presto all gone no more squeak..
