Help Car Wont Rev Past 3000

Hi Guys Just Had A New Engine Installed And Wanted To Know Why My Engine Wont Rev Past 3000 Revs, The Mechanic Reakons Its Its Due To The Drained Battery But I'm Not Convinced... Help

cant be the battery (is he really a mechanic!).

blocked exhaust could be the cause, or blocked air filter. is the idle stable and at the correct rpm?

Get it to an Alfa dealership who can diagnose it. Mine went into a garage and had the same problem - had to go to Mangoletsi in Knutsford to be resolved.

I reckon the MAF or a sensor on the blink is causing this, you could try cleaning the maf with some injection or carb cleaner but it sounds like its shagged. is this the original one? What happened to your old engine and how did it expire? Maybe something damaged your exg Maf?

if it is the maf, disconnecting it will allow you to hit high rpm (ignore the lumpy idle, just see if you can hit higher rpm)
