I may be wrong but I thought that when oxygen and hydrogen were burnt together it just made water again.

Very rare to find a journalist (or politician) who understands simple technical stuff. Burning hydrogen (in air) produces heat and water. No perpetual motion though.

Thats what I thought. When we burned hydrogen at school in a glass tube there was some condensation on the glass afterwards.
