Buying a used 156

I hope this is the right place. I've been to look at a W (2000) 156 1800. I've wanted a 156 for a while and this one seems quite reasonable. The asking price is £1800 (I think I can get him down to £1600) and its quite low milage at 66k albeit 4 previous owners. It has the usual scratches I'd associate with an eight year old motor but I was hoping for some advice as to what else to look for.

The engine has been rebuilt because the timing belt slipped and the water pump and thermostat was changed at this point (61k) also. Looking under the bonet its got a very clean engine bay and I can't see any leaks or evidence of it burning oil. Its got a full service history although not from main alfa dealers I'm assured that the work this guys had done has been from fully trained alfa mechanics. The drive is smooth without any knocks etc, doesn't pull under power or braking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I really want this car but not a lemon!
