Hmmm 156 Gta Non Starter Ecu Info Required

Hi guys, great threads on here to do with my problem, but thought I would ask for a little further help:

My 156 GTA was laid up for a while so i could rebuild the top end.
When the job was complete, checked her over, and started her up. No problems, all good.
However after about half an hour, warmed her up, cooled her down etc, switched her off.
Came to start her again after about half an hour, she would not fire although she turns over fine.
So I started looking at the threads on here. I have now done the following:

Renewed the battery
Changed the ECU ariel

Still no joy.

The "key light" appears to be a car with a padlock through it, this is not mentioned in any of the threads, but I assume this is the Immob light. This is lit until you play with the connections on the Immob ecu, and then it will go out.
The engine warning light is flickering all the time.
There is no fuel delivery when the ignition switch is in the MAR position.

So, does the Immob ECU control the fuel relay?
Has anyone else got this padlock light on their car and is it, as I suspect, an immob light?
Also last but not least, the fuel pump relay does not appear to be on the battery, the relays on there all control various fan speeds.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I am time served and dont have any problems with fixing it, after I know the info above.

Thanks again guys, over to you..........

keep them v6's running

Sounds like you have a bad earth, have you connected the earth wire back to the head?

The key symbol means your ECU is not getting the correct response from the code box (immobiliser is active), if you wiggle the relays in front of the battery then it may just solve it, otherwise you'll need to remove them and clean the terminals or even if you have the engine light too, replace the crank sensor.

Thanks for this so far. I have checked the earth, and it is good, I had connected the head earth, however I took it off again and cleaned it up, no better. After looking at the relays, i assume the fuel pump relay is smaller than the four large fan relays.

Does the Immob control the fuel pump relay or just the ignition?
Is the fuel pump relay given a good earth to energise it or should it be a feed given?

I have replaced the earth with a jump lead over many places, but to no avail.

Cheers guys
