Alfa 156 2.4 JTD

both air bag lights on

Hello i have just brought a 156 2.4jtd to replace the t-spark which sadly decided to snap its cam belt. Brough it cheap for 1200 knowing of most faults but have since noticed both air bag lights are on and carfully covered over! Still have the old 156 so anybody know what is likely to need swapping? Thanks Rich

Re: both air bag lights on

Most likely a combination of bad connectors - in the black plastic box under each front seat - and a faulty ECU - behind the centre console. You may be able to swap over the ECU from your old car, but there are several different ECUs dependent on number / location of airbags.

HTH

Try a reset first, normally that's enough.

Re: both air bag lights on

My air bag fault was a connector in the boot.

What connector in the boot is that? Mine is on all the time and have checked under seats to no avail.
