Official tyre size for 156?

Hi all

Will be needing some new front tyres shortly but am not sure what the official tyre size is for the 15" alloys on my 156!

Its got 185/60/15's on at the mo but an online retailer tells me it should be 205/60/15's. Which is it?!

186/60R15 are wrong.

It would have come with 185/65R15, but the 15" alloys also came with 205/60R15 on the larger engine versions.

Both sizes can be used, but obviously all four the same!

BTW, My handbook (for a year 2000 156 2.0 Twin Spark) lists
185/65 R15*88H and 205/55 R16*89H for a 1.6 T/Spark,
185/65 R15*88V and 205/55 R16*89V for a 1.8 T/Spark,
185/65 R15*88V, 205/55 R16*89V and 205/60 R15*91V for a 2.0 T/Spark
205/55 R16*91W and 205/60 R15*91W for a 2.5 V6 24V
185/65 R15*88H and 205/55 R16*89H for a 1.9 JTD
185/65 R15*88V and 205/55 R16*89V for a 2.4 JTD

Also, if it's any help - my local tyre supplier/fitter steered me away from the fashionable Pirellis (as too soft) for the demands of the "towed in" Alfa front wheel drive, and recommended Falken (not Falcon) as the best tyre for price and wear.
