Re: Radio signal

if there's no rooftop aerial, then it utilises the rear window's 'rear demister' as the aerial. access to the booster is behind the driver's side (in RHD car) C-pillar trim, but this requires removal of the rear seat and parcel shelf first.

what model headunit do you have? reception is generally inferior to many factory headunits.

Re: Radio signal

What do you mean by 'headunit'?
If you mean the CD radio set it is an American 'Roadmaster' model VR500CS-BT

Re: Radio signal

yes, 'headunit' = CD tuner.

ok, 'roadmaster' is not a high quality brand as far as i know. more an ebay item. and if it's designed in the US (may not be), it may not have the appropriate radio sensitivity as a UK spec model.

chances are there's little you can do, and that the aerial is intact and functioning fine. best option is to buy a new, high quality headunit. you could even consider a (secondhand) original unit from a 156 (produced by blaupunkt).

Re: Radio signal

OK Thanks

Will look through the classified section to see if I can find one. That way all the steering wheel controls should work, but I will miss out on the Bluetooth facility on this unit
