Help Help!!!!

Hi

I've just recently bought an Alfa 147 (2002). I have 2 queries that i would like some help with if possible. Firstly i can't seem to get the cruise control to work. I've followed what the manual says to do and it doesn't seem work. Secondly the CD does not hold its position when the car is turned off and turned on again. Is this correct.

Re: Help!!!!

I can't answer for the cruise but for the radio in my friends 147 there is a resume function that you need to switch on, I believe it's a case of pushing and holding down a button to activate it. Should be in the radio manual! Good luck!!

Re: Help!!!!

If the cruise control indication on the dash doesn't work then it's most probably the fuse, if not then another thing to check is the switch above the clutch pedal.( I managed to kick mine off!) Hope this helps.

Re: Help!!!!

i would love to know where this resume button is cause my manual doesn't mention anything about it and theres nothing obvious on the actual facial unit that indicates this. Do you which button i should be pressing!!!!

Re: Help!!!!

Resume button is on the end of the cruise control stalk.

A quick guide for the cruise control is to turn inner knob to on( on cruise stalk).
Drive as you would upto desired speed.
Let foot off accelerator.
Flick outside knob to + ( top away from you).
Green clock should be displayed near the time on your dash. Cruise is now working.

You can then hold the outer knob either way to increase or decrease speed.
Pressing the clutch or brake dissengages cruise and can be resumed via the resume button which will take you back to your last cruising speed.

Re: Help!!!!

Think there's a bit of confusion here. The resume button (on the end of the cruise control stalk) is to re-engage the cruise control - it has no CD/radio function at all.

Can't suggest how to restore volume settings etc on the CD/radio, but would love to find out! Also fed up of changing the volume everytime its been off!

As far as I know it can't be changed - just one of those things we have to live with!

I suspect it's done so that it doesn't drown out the variator rattle on start-up....

Re: Help!!!!

If you have an aftermarket audio system, the problem is down to the switched and permanent live feeds being reversed. Quite why this is the case, I don't know but it's an issue with VAG cars as well as Alfas.

Re: Help!!!!

You can swap the wiring over to fix the audio problem.
