BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

... According to that bastion of motoring, Fith Gear.
..'The BMW 635d is the very first GT car to be powered by Diesel..'

Am I missing something?

The Brera isn't a true GT. It's a 2+2 at best Nomad

The GT could take 4 + luggage to Nice in relative comfort

Re: BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

Glad I'm not going mad

Sorry, but I really don't like Fith gear, even though VBH is on it. Tiff wasn't a bad racing driver, until he decided that driving a car sideways was the fastest way to get around a track. I can't seem to recall Lewis Hamilton driving like that..

.. maybe that's why he didn't win last year!

(searches for the handbags icon ).

Imagine me & you in the back of a Brera then Dave (not like that you perve ).
We wouldn't want to go 10 miles let alone 1000

Would be bearable in the GT

Clarkson has it right when he says the back seats of a Brera are for Douglas Bader, DFC

Re: BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

oooh, handbags at the ready

I'm waiting for my two year old to get tall enough to use the next size up car seat, in the hope that she'll be able to fit in to the back of a Brera. I know that logic sounds a bit daft, but it means that her legs will sit downwards, rather than straight out.
Tried the seat in a Brera, and there was just too little room, so looks like I'm 'stuck' with the GT for now.

Can think of worse cars to be stuck with

I wasn't even safe from your 'roaming mitts' whilst sat in a crowded Ace Cafe !!

And also having no rear leg room means you can't take the kids out with you !! Bonus !!

Re: BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

6 series Panzerwagen
Room for 6 (though not strictly in comfort) and easy to park!

You can park in a spot already occupied by another car!

Re: BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

I think you guys are bringing too much into this. The GT (Alfa) is not a true GT car, nor is the Pug 407/408. These are 'normal' cars in the sense that they are not particularly expensive. A true GT car is something like that Beemer, Aston, or Maserati.

As for 5th Gear, people moan about it with their sometimes bizarre features, but they are only trying a different spin on things in the same way TG has done for some time now, like caravan jumping (mmmm now thats entertainment isn't it? ).
I actually quite like 5th gear although I want Quintin Wilson back instead of that hairy gorilla, Tom Ford. Oh and please please bring back Kate Humble too. That young fellar who drove the BMW is funny though - he seems like a right 42 carrot plonker!
I agree about Tiff though...I mean yes he is still an awesome driver, but he is so up his own ar5e. He keeps saying he's a professional racing driver yet he can't drive for any decent teams as he always drove sideways and crashed. I don't mind the fellar, but he needs to stop saying he is a professional racing driver, becuase he is'nt! (although that Aston did look good with him behind the wheel!).

Re: BMW Release the 'World's first GT Diesel'

Iwent out in a DBS a few months back after trying a V8 and a DB9 and it just made those cars feel ordinary. Still I had a strange experience at the Aston factory, pulled up in my 159 got out and a car pulled up next to mine and asked if it was an Aston!

I didnt know whether to feel insulted or impressed....but I did sensd the blokes embarassment when I told him what it was!

Agreed about VBH and that :sw: Ford but Tiff is OK IMO and as for JP being a "BTCC has been"... second in the championship and this years championship favourite makes you a has been does it

Pleeeease

Oh and JP's Caparo T1 accident could have been much more serious than it was and his injuries cost him the BTCC title last year so shouldn't be made light of IMO
