Floppy gearlever 145 1.6 boxer

The gearlever on my 1.6 boxer has become quite floppy. It still changes gear OK, but there is a lot of play in the lever, even when you're in gear. Anyone know if there's any adjustment or other fix for this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Floppy gearlever 145 1.6 boxer

Hi There,

Assuming the setup is the same on all the boxers (I stand to be corrected):

there's a little rubber bush that the gear selector rod sits into. its right at the back of the gearbox and gets perished quickly. Whip it out and bung in a new one. Its a little fiddley but only a 15min job.
Worked wonders on mine! If not try the rubber bushes at the base of the gearstick.

If its a different setup on your car hope you manage to get it sorted!
