German bits on Italian cars are crap, daughters Bravo had failed throttle motor, failed after 6 months, the radio does not clip in properly, Grundig, and a shocker had gone, Sachs. I am pleased to report the bodywork, engine, gearbox etc are all in fine fettle.
On my 75 the ZF steering rack leaked (German), the seat material is worn through (Recaro), the 145 had the headlamp problem, sticking idle valve, alarm packed up (Philips) and a crap rad (give you that that one its French), oh and these cambelts that snap are Gates, made in Germany. My 166 has a Gates belt, radio interference, (Siemens).
There is doubtless more, but most of the bits that I have replaced on my cars recently are German but they make up a fraction of the car.
