intermittent starting fault
Had a search on this forum which gave me some ideas but they havent solved the problem.
Seems to be that after long journeys (50miles +) my wifes 1.8TS wont start when left overnight. This has now happened about 4-5 times recently.
If you try and start it again the same day it will start no problem. Might be because it is still warm?
If it wont start sometimes you can go to it the next day and it will start, but not always.
What I have noticed is that when it wont start the red injector light goes out but comes back on when the engine is turning over.
I have checked all the fuses and relays for corrosion in the engine bay and fusebox by removing cleaning and replacing.
Battery voltage having left overnight is about 12.6V so it looks like a cell has gone weak but cranking speed is not slow and it will crank for a long time.
Heres whats weird, on the last 2 occasions when it has happened we have been able to get the car going by bump starting it.
About a month ago the MAF meter was replaced at SimplyAlfa. they also did the cambelt about 12 months ago.
Any ideas what might be the problem??
