I had a crank sensor fail on my 145 QV, and I do think that this is probably the cause, the reason I mentioned the cam sensor is because it may have been disturbed.
My crank sensor failure caused the car to be very difficult to start, whether hot or cold, and once running it was ok. It also illuminated the injector light when it was failing to start.
One way of checking the sensor is to unplug it and measure the resistance between the pins. The plug is brown and is located around the inlet manifold area. (Near cambelt end on ally topped, battery end on plastic topped)
Mine gave a reading of 10,000 ohms when it should be under 1000.
