Sumpbody help me

Hi. Last weekend had the bracket that gaurds the exhaust smashed to bits by a gate stop sticking out of the ground after having a lovely day out at a country show. This also tore the exhaust out of the back box and mashed the sump. Right, what i need to know is the order of things when replacing the sump. Is it the same as a 147 or are there differences? I have 145 QV with phase 2 engine. Got the parts to fix so that was a relief!!! Also while on having a prob with idle when stopping the car. The revs are up and down while the car is moving and when stopped aeem to settle. Have fitted new mfa and was wondering if it could be lambda? It seems to happen only when there is air going through. Any thoughts? Thanks v much

not quite sure if its etiquette to direct you to other sites, but saves me the job of cut and paste

sump change

caused by hitting the claw of a plough IIRC

revs, see here go to the 'technical' bit and see the part on erratic idle, should be fixed by one of those things.

Re: Sumpbody help me

The sumps are the same for all the 2.0 TSparks.

Erratic idle is usually the stepper motor, but can be a multitude of sins.

Re: Sumpbody help me

You'll need some long reach slim tork bits, M6 and M8 iirc. These are for the recessed torx next to the gearbox.
Also when dropping the sump, after releasing all the bolts, you will need to undo one of the bolts on the oil pickup to allow yo uto swing it out of the way. The sump does not come off with this in place.
