Wishbones and track rods bent!

I was driving through my local supermarket carpark the other day when on full lock to make a corner I came to an abrupt halt. Like I hit something but there was nothing in sight, big jolt on steering, stalled, headbutt door frame etc.

Got home with steering alignment way out and found the RH trackrod was bent. Had wishbones on order due to very bad bush wear so got hold of a used PAS rack and have spent the last week replacing parts, and swearing lots.

Got the old wishbones off and as well as minimal bushes remaining the RH one was bent/twisted. At the low speed I was travelling I find the damage too severe to have come from a pothole or similar, is there anyway this WB could have been damaged previously and my bent trackrod came from meeting the inner arch under full lock with wishbone worn outside of its usual operating limits? Anybody had similar experience?

Sorry its long winded but I've been confused a while
