Re: Should I recommend a 146 1.4 as a first car
I have one, brilliant engine for a 1.4. Just be very very picky and watch out for head gaskets, clutchs, and timing belts and cam varivators and damage also. I saw many a bucket in Dublin took me 2 weeks to find the right one but in the end I did. One lady owner from new with 52k on the clocks, I have done nearly 4k since owning the car and it is sweet as a nut. Got the belts done and nothing has gone wrong with it. Change the oil regularly and you will have a reliable cheap and fun car to drive.
I love my 146 1.4 TS PM if you want to know what cars to stay away from on carzone as there are still a lot of them that I have seen for sale.
