Rear Wiper

Changed the battery in the 145 yesterday and then checked that all was well (car has been on the drive for 2 weeks while on holiday) and the rear wiper has stopped working.

It used to fail about 1 in 20 times but always worked in conjunction with the rear wash. Now nothing at all.

There is a clicking sound coming from the tailgate when the ring is turned or stalk pushed forward.

Could it be related to the battery change?

Any ideas gratefully received....

Re: Rear Wiper

I wouldn't expect it to be related to the battery change. If there's a ticking coming from the motor, it sounds like it's trying to work. I'd expect the track to be covered in grease; take the motor out, whip off the top cover, and give it a good clean. Shouldn't take more than an hour. Good luck

Re: Rear Wiper

One of mine stuck once. I turned it on and then just gently persuaded it up, it started working again

Re: Rear Wiper

The spindle that the wiper arm is attached to siezes into the bushing that takes it through the panel.
I'd do the Jim145 approach above, can of WD40 in hand for a nice quick fix.

I have a 145 wiper motor in the shed if it can't be recovered.
