I thought I would start a thread dedicated to the restoration of my 145 qv.
I bought it just before xmas for £73! Car has 110k on it however 1 owner from new. It was a company car for a chap in London for the first 3 years, then entered the family. I damaged the bursa in my shoulder around the same time as purchasing it so have not been able to work on any of my projects
I also suffered from depression for a period last year and want to ensure I have a meaningful hobby outside of my mundane IT job!
It has a massive book of documents with it - in fact FSH all the way from new. However it looks to have been a bit of a workhorse for its final days and is looking quite sorry for itself!
Mechanically the car is absolutely spot on. Most of the work will need to go in to cosmetics. Current list before even getting it in the garage or on the ramps are :
Floor welding on both sides,
Chassis leg corrosion - O/S,
2 brake pipes to replace
Door cards worn (replacements sourced)
No badges on car
Auxiliary belt squeaking
Drivers side door seal worn and torn
Tyres have good tread however are cracked and old (and crap!)
Hopefully the project will inspire others to renovate these very underrated little pocket rockets!
I'll populate the thread as I go along with pics, etc.
