Clutch Pedal Adjustment?

My 146 1.8 t.spark's clutch pedal only has about an inch of travel from fully released to fully depressed & the clutch bites as soon as the pedal is lifted. Does this simply need the pedal adjusting or does it mean a new clutch kit???

Re: Clutch Pedal Adjustment?

Is it a Hydraulic clutch on the 1.8TS? Best test for whether the clutch is slippng is to drop it into 4th or 5th gear and see if she'll pull from very low revs. If the clutch is slipping then you'll be revving but not going anywhere.

If its a hydraulic clutch then it's one of two things - either a new clutch master cylinder is needed, or the pedal is simply not returning properly, stopping the brake/clutch fluid from refilling the reservoir.

I have had (and still do have) the same problem on my 156 GTA. Have had the clutch master cylinder replaced, but it is now undriveable, so I am wit hout my GTA for several weeks

Hope this helps?

Cheers
