Kev, if you decide to buy any of the above mentioned boxer equiped alfas, i not sure it's such a good idea to get a carbed engine. Sure those twin barrel webbers sound too good to be true, but they have to be perfecty tuned to run properly; not to mention ignition points, vacuum advance hoses, etc.
I had a 33 but with electronic ignition, it never gave me any problems, allways started, never missed a beat, sparkplugs were always in top shape. On the other hand a friend of mine has a Sud, he had to get the carb rebuilt due to wear...the cars idle was all over the place.
Plus the Sud was known to rust real bad...this is not a problem for the 145, but the old series (1 & 2) 33 that came with carbs did rust a little.
