The CF3 has more electronic gubbins.. the layout of some of the components is different and the plugs for the crank sensor etc are different (presumably to prevent parts being mis-matched).
CF1 and CF2 are more mechanically similar and a bare CF2 engine without the rocker cover is more or less identical to a CF1.
What are you trying to do/why do you want to know?
If you have a CF1 and need replacement components, then CF1 or possibly CF2 will work with it.
If you have a CF2, then CF2 parts are fairly common still.
If you have a CF3, then really only other CF3 bits will fit.
