Re: 155, 146 & 145 wheels
This might be completely irreolvant (?) but I have recently bought a 146 1.6 twinspark and last weekend changed the original 14" steel wheels to the standard 146 15" alloy Speedlines. Before I fitted them (with longer bolts) I weighed them and was amazed that each wheel is 5kg heavier than the steel wheels. The steels are 12.5kg and the alloys 17.5kg.
The handling is better but the brakingand suspension aren't as effective as before. Think I might leave them on for a bit, then swap back again to see which I prefer. If I were looking for alloys again, I'd probably look for some that are lighter than the ALfa originals.
Something someone else might be able to help with, the 15" alloys' tyres are 1" diameter bigger. How will that effect the accuracy of my speedo/odo? I can only imagine it would make a fair difference, especially as I do about 20k per year.
