Can anyone tell me how to replace the clutch master cylinder without damaging pipe to slave cylinder

good luck with this, the master is a git to get to, although once you're in there not too difficult, the pipe to the slave just unscrews in the same way a brake pipe would...

sorry to ask a silly question but are you sure it's the master, slave failures are common but masters aren't.

Hi take your top stabiliser bar of and gently jack the rear of the engine up this will give you a little bit more room for lossening the master cylinder connection off, same question why master cylinder? (Also saving Alfas in the North East.) (IE use a block off wood on your sump to stop any possible damage to it.)

Just a quick comment - both the above remarks are correct - assuming your 146 is a twin-spark.....bit different if its a boxer....tho should be easier to change....
