Help - water, water everywhere

Hello all, good to be back. My 145 1.6 '96 appears to have sprung a leak. Went out to it after sitting idle for a couple of days (the car that is) to find drivers footwell soaking wet. No sign of a leak though, door seals, windscreen, windows etc all dry - Haven't got a sunroof so can't be that. Any of you knowledgable posters out there have any ideas where it might have come from? Thanks in advance for your advice. (incidentally we did have some very heavy rain the day before).

Re: Help - water, water everywhere

i would guess it could be just too much rain and maybe a blocked drain hole somewhere ...

Does your car have Aircon? The condensor can dump water in odd places.

Idea Re: Help - water, water everywhere

Remove the scuttle trim and possibly the wiper arms. Check that the drains in the scuttle area are clean as they are prone to blocking especially in atumn. Check to see if you car has a cabin filter (left hand of scuttle). While this may not cause the water, if very dirty, it is likely to cause window misting and poor demisting.
