Driverside Footwell

I'm looking into buying a 146 1.6 TS. Its tidy and there is only one problem, after a night of heavy rain the driverside footwell has about half an inch of water in it. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I've been told by the deal that it isn't the heater matrix, which seems to be a common problem.

I'm going to see the car again tomorrow evening so anything that i should keep an eye out for or looking at to find the problem.

I dont want to buy a lemon.

Re: Driverside Footwell

had identical issue with my 145...

I toook out the entire dash to find this one
spent days tracking it down....guess what it was...

The seal in the windscreen was gone and that was allowing the water to run down into the footwell... Look at your windscreen along the front near where the passenger side is... Is any of the seal gone white? This is a sign that that the glue has been exposed to water and air.. Thats where my leak was.. a simple windscreen change (covered by insurance) solved the problem and my footwelll has enjoyed dryness ever since... I hope this is your problem, as its a simple one to solve and it would save you the days I spent taking my dash apart
