Re: What's she worth - '99T 145 CLF
I'm looking for a 2.0 cloverleaf at the moment, but due to having a red car for the past 10 years, I am after a bit of a change.
Personally, if it has the teledial wheels (like the 17" on the GTV) then I would pay £2000, no sweat.
The car on autotrader mentioned above was listed for £2200, but that had leather, so £2000 seems fair.
Mind you, there is no hard and fast rules on pricing, and if it is a total minter with almost no scratches, good tyres, tax and M.O.T. then it shouldn't be too difficult to get more, say £2400-2500.
One other thing. I am quite picky when looking at the Alfa's I have seen, and one thing I check to see if they have been neglected or not is too look at the colour of the oil (dipstick). I know a well looked after car would be easily "faked" by a £10 oil & filter garage job, but over half of the cars I have seen have crude oil in the engine, rather than the golden syrup I like to see. I can only come to the conclusion if the person can't be ars*d to change the oil when selling the car, they probably haven't been looking after it.
