Re: I Hate my Dirty Alfina
Right, new lambda fitted. The car does seem to be driving slightly better, which could be my imagination, although I've not noticed a huge increase in MPG either, if any. One strange thing I did notice, when I disconnected the old one, I didn't even get a warning lamp on the dash, which I thought was kind of strange and makes it difficult to know if the new one is working correctly.
Got a MAF on order, but I have to say I'm a bit concerned about failing the emissions test again, mainly because I'm worried the cat has been buggered though age/running rich for to long. I'm considering disconnecting the pipes which route the rockerbox gases back into the throtle body for the test. What's the panels verdict on this?
Any other tips I could try other than the obvious getting it hot and oil/filter changes? I'd be temped to try adding some anhydrous alcohol to the tank if only I knew where to get some...
