145 help

Hi everyone,

Hope you don't mind me posting so soon after joining but I'm in need of a help.

My 145 has become very noisy since purchased 10 months ago to the extent that someone actually asked me if it was a diesel the other day! It has done a lot of miles (106,000). I am going to flush/change the oil/filter in a bid to reduce the mechanical noise. Has anyone else come across similar 'diesel' noise in their 145?

Re: 145 help

sounds like a knackered variator...has it ever been replaced ? when was the last cambelt change ? if this is needed you can get the variator done at the same time to keep down costs

Re: 145 help

Yeah, thats deffinatly the variator. It won't do any harm, but the noise is very irritating! To have it changed you need the cambelt and tensioners changed too. My specialist charges 400 for the whole job, which I belive is around the average.
